The Livestock Research Group of the Global Research Alliance is thrilled to present the Livestock Research Group 2021 Annual Meeting!

There is no shortage of potential mitigation options discovered through research, but evidence for uptake on-farm is limited. This year's meeting aims to understand the barriers to providing mitigation solutions to farmers. Are the current mitigations simply theoretical? Is it a policy issue rather than a science issue? Are our solutions practical at scale? Are they cost-effective? What are the incentives to implement? What messages do we need to send and to whom? (Researchers? Policymakers? Farmers? We will explore these questions further through discussion, and we will develop a work plan for 2022 that will push uptake of on-farm practice further into reality.

Another exciting initiative that the LRG Annual Meeting will address is the development of potential flagship projects. We requested your project ideas and will present the submissions and work to develop those ideas into globally collaborative projects.

As travel is still being impacted by Covid worldwide, we present this meeting virtually for the second year in a row. While we count the days to a time when we can all come together again, we are looking forward to engaging with you through our virtual forum. Pre-recorded sessions will provide updates on activities and plans from our networks and partners; these will be available for you to view in your own time starting from September 20th. If you have questions while watching the pre-recorded sessions, we invite you to post a question on our online form. We will ask these questions to the appropriate speaker during the live session. In addition, the speakers will be available for questions during the live sessions.
